12 Times Celebs Fought Back Against Their Online Trolls In 2015

Goodbye, haters.

It's not uncommon for female stars to get trolled on social media. They have their every move scrutinized, their outfits ripped apart, their relationships dissected and their bodies shamed.

But this year something different happened...celebrities fought back.

No longer were women like Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande sitting back and letting the online haters hate. They took to social media to defend themselves and put those trolls in their place.

So let's take a look back at the 11 times these badass, fearless and empowering women fought back in 2015.

There's More To Love

After pictures surfaced of Selena in a bikini in Mexico, some were seriously quick to judge her curvy figure, writing all sorts of disgusting things about her. But instead of letting it get to her, she posted her own bathing suit photo and captioned the gorgeous pic, "I love being happy with me yall #theresmoretolove." Haters, please see yourself out.

You Can't Fake This

When Kim Kardashian revealed that she was pregnant, many thought that she was "faking" it or even had a surrogate carrying her second child. Not so fast. Kim quickly shut everyone up when she posted a nude selfie of her bump, which proved she was not faking anything.

I Do Not Belong...To Anyone.

Ariana doesn't belong to anyone but herself, and neither should you. After turning down an interviewer who asked about her dating life, specifically her relationship with ex Big Sean, Ariana took to Twitter to unleash a powerful and empowering essay about how she is tired of women being "referred to as a man's past, present, or future PROPERTY / POSSESSION. I... do not. belong. to anyone. but myself. and neither do you." Mic drop.

All Booties Are 'F--king Awesome'

Ari didn't have just one empowering message this year -- she had several. Back in February, Nicki Minaj and Ari performed together at the NBA All Star Game, and it prompted one troll to leave a really nasty comment about Ariana's behind. Obviously this person thought they would go unnoticed, but Ariana quickly pounced on their comment and gave that person a piece of her mind, saying on Instagram: "when did it become socially acceptable to comment on what you think is ’wrong’ with other people’s bodies?? we were having fun! dancing on stage. ’what’s she shaking tho???’ i’m shaking my pretty, cute, petite ass next to nicki’s pretty, big booty. both are f--king awesome."

Kylie's Influential...In Her Own Way

Kylie Jenner

When Time magazine released it's list of the 30 most influential teens for 2015, which included Malala Yousafzai, many were downright angry that Kylie made the list. But instead of ignoring all those that didn't understand her placement, Kylie defended herself and explained exactly why she deserves a spot on list.

"I feel like everything I do, my hair color, my makeup, I always start these huge trends, and I don’t even realize what I’m capable of. I didn’t care what people had to say; I didn’t even read any of that stuff," she told Time. "People might have been upset because we were next to, like, young girls who started schools and crazy things. But we’re just different people! We’re influential in different ways, and that’s okay."

We Are Who We Are

Kelly Clarkson received a lot of hurtful comments when it came to her weight this year, from people on social media to journalists. Kelly, being the amazing woman that she is, doesn't have time for that BS, and she told her body-shaming critics, "We are who we are — whatever size."

Taylor Swift The 1989 World Tour Live In Houston

Taylor Swift's relationships have been the root of her songs, and the butt of a lot of people's jokes, but guess what? Taylor doesn't find those jokes "fair." The singer spoke to Glamour UK about everyone calling her "boy-crazy" saying that it's "public humiliation" and if she wants to date for "excitement, or fun, or new experiences or learning lessons," she can.

Pink's Perfect

It's hard to believe, but there are some that actually had the audacity to dare cross Pink. Back in April the singer wore a black party dress to a function, but when pics surfaced, many had some negative remarks about her weight. Pink took to Twitter with the most perfect reply, saying that not only did she feel "beautiful" in her dress, but she is "perfectly fine, perfectly happy, and my healthy, voluptuous and crazy strong body is having some much deserved time off." Oh, and she signed it off with "Love, cheesecake." Take a bow, Pink.

There's Nothing Wrong With Being Confident

Demi Lovato proved that there was nothing wrong with being confident, but there were some that didn't want to let her show it off. Demi landed the cover of Cosmopolitan this year, but the National Center on Sexual Exploitation wanted certain carriers of the magazine to wrap the covers in sleeves since it's suggestive content causes "harm" to minors. Demi wanted none of that and fired back defending her spread and saying that, with the magazine, she was able to show the world how “confident a woman can be once she learns to love herself.”

#FreeTheNipple

Chrissy Teigen joined Miley Cyrus, Scout Willis, and Rihanna in the fight to #FreeTheNipple this year when she posted a topless photo of herself on Instagram. The pic was deleted, but Chrissy decided to post the same photo stylized as an oil painting since "Nudity in photos of paintings and sculptures is OK, too." However, that was taken down, but Chrissy promised that it will be back.

The Perfect Response

Zendaya

Zendaya hit up the 2015 Oscars looking all sorts of goddess-like with a gorgeous gown and her hair in long locks. During an episode of "Fashion Police," host Giuliana Rancic made some offensive comments regarding her look saying, "I feel like she smells like patchouli oil...and maybe weed." Zendaya responded with remarks that were not only extremely mature, but inspiring, saying, "There is already harsh criticism of African American hair in society without the help of ignorant people who choose to judge others based on the curl of their hair." Zendaya's powerful response prompted Giuliana to apologize both on social media and on TV, and started an important conversation.

Hard Work Pays Off

Khloe Kardashian has been working hard for her body, putting in countless hours at the gym, and she wanted to show it off. The reality star posed for Complex magazine, but there were some "troll haters" out there that thought her photos were touched up. To prove all of them wrong, Khloe shared the original pic from the shoot, and even with her "flaws and all," she still thinks she looks good...and so do we.
