Mark Wahlberg Defends Batfleck, Urges Fans To Stop Knocking Movies

by Brett White

Ever since Ben Affleck was cast as Batman in Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel" sequel, celebrities have come out in support of the decision to counteract the internet's less-than-positive response. So far Hugh Jackman, Josh Brolin, and Jennifer Garner have all been revealed as pro-Batfleck—now we can add Mark Wahlberg to the list.

"Ben's a great guy, you know," Wahlberg told MTV News' Josh Horowitz last weekend. "He's a really talented guy... I'm proud of him, and I think hopefully he can prove his naysayers wrong." Wahlberg also took the time to call out critics and fans, who he believes have been especially hard on films this year and have taken delight in watching films fail. Wahlberg was also grateful to have seemingly gotten through his casting in "Transformers: Age of Extinction" unscathed.

"Isn't it crazy that they didn't do all these complaint campaigns about me being in 'Transformers'? I just slipped through the cracks before people started realizing, 'Holy s---, we can voice our opinions and we'll ruin somebody!'" Check out the entire video below.
