'Guardians Of The Galaxy': Bradley Cooper Is The Voice Of Rocket Raccoon

by Brett White

"Guardians of the Galaxy" is officially the most unpredictable comic book movie ever made. First they cast a sitcom star and a professional wrestler in bad ass roles usually reserved for proven movie stars, then they fill out the supporting ranks with Oscar-caliber actors like Glenn Close, John C. Reilly, Djimon Hounsou, and Benicio del Toro, and now they go on and cast one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood as a talking raccoon.

That's right. Marvel.com has confirmed that Bradley Cooper is the voice of Rocket Raccoon.

This was hinted at last week when the actor was reportedly in talks for the role. Now it's a done deal, and Cooper will be hitting up a recording studio to lay down a bevy of one-liners and insults, all of which are destined to find immortality on Rocket Raccoon t-shirts.

Rocket Raccoon will be an all CG character, and judging from the leaked teaser footage, he'll be unlike anything we've seen in a film before. The film's other all-CG leading role, Groot, the tree that walks like a man, looks to be going to Vin Diesel, although Marvel has yet to make an official announcement about that casting. With Rocket Raccoon locked and loaded, we should expect final word on Groot any day now.

So this Labor Day weekend, bust out one of the "Hangover" movies, close your eyes, and imagine all of Bradley Cooper's lines coming out of the mouth of a gun-toting raccoon. Enjoy the weekend!
