'The Walking Dead' Season 4: Michonne Saddles Up In New Photo

I know you're bummed about "Breaking Bad" ending its run soon, but if its any consolation, one AMC drama looks to be around for a long time to come. "The Walking Dead" television show, which has its fourth season premiere on October 13th, has a guaranteed lifespan that will be significantly longer than most of its cast. "We hope that zombies live forever, and we've just begun to find out what the post-apocalyptic world is like," said AMC Networks CEO Josh Sapan back in May.

The show's immediate future is now starting to come into focus, with new photos being released at a steady pace. It started with an image of leading-man Rick back in May, followed by one of Daryl in July. Now Entertainment Weekly has revealed one of fan favorite character Michonne taking a much more reliable mode of transportation—a horse.

"With gas at a premium, with the fact that vehicles break down, I think we would return to the days of horseback riding and you can graze them as you go in a place like Georgia," said executive producer Gale Anne Hurd. "You don't have to carry food for them. They feed themselves, so to speak. It goes along with the new approach this season of sustainability... It's actually much more of a useful choice. Not only that, but Michonne looks so badass on it." Check out the badass photo after the jump!

With a bit of training, actress Danai Gurira has really taken to her new best friend. "I love it," said Gurira. "I love it now. And I totally get why Michonne would love it. It's such a freeing experience, it's you and this one creature and you don't have to talk... It has this perfect function. It's just a fantastic animal. So, I so get why she would jump on it and feel free. It's like going into her man cave."

You can check out the full story behind Gurira's attempts at horseback riding over at Entertainment Weekly. Here's hoping that Michonne's new horse, named Flame, will keep her company for a long time. Back off, zombies!
