'Thor: The Dark World' Gets 'Plussed' With Loki Reshoots

by Brett White

Even if Loki isn't appearing in "Avengers: Age of Ultron," it appears that you just can't keep the God of Mischief down. The Avengers nemesis, played by Tom Hiddleston, pretty much stole the show in the latest "Thor: The Dark World" trailer, and it looks like there will be even more of the troublemaker thanks to a few re-shoots and pick-up scenes recently added to the film.

"We are literally shooting things this week," revealed Taylor in an interview with Collider at Disney's D23 Expo this past weekend. "Anthony Hopkins is back in town and we're going to be getting some stuff from him. We continue to, what [Marvel Studios president] Kevin Feige calls, 'plus' the movie... There are some tonal pushes and shoves. There are a couple relationships that we need to end the right way."

Could Loki be one half of one of the aforementioned relationships?

Taylor discussed some of the additional footage recently shot with Tom Hiddleston in Manhattan Beach, California, revealing that the work was actually substantial.

"We're doing full scenes—scenes that were not in the movie before. We're adding scenes, creating scenes, writing scenes for the first time. I think the one you're talking to [with Hiddleston] was sort of a fun, connective scene that was just—we realized how well Loki was working in the movie and we wanted to do more with him." Was there ever any doubt that Loki would be fun in the film? Looks like we're in for a lot more GIFable moments.

The stigma that was once associated with reshoots, though, need not apply to this or any other Marvel movie, Taylor says. "In my case, reshooting is not like you screwed something up and you have to do it again. It's additional photography because, 'What if we had a scene like this and make this happen over here?' [Marvel] finds the movie through that process... They are really good at what they do, as we've all noticed."

"Thor: The Dark World" opens on November 8th. You can check out the entire video interview below.
