The untold story continues, even if the title is a little bit worn thin.
A new banner and logo has been revealed for "The Amazing Spider-Man 2," thanks to the eagle-eyed folks over at ComicBookMovie.com. The banner features the same images of Spider-Man and Electro that we saw on the cover of Entertainment Weekly's Comic-Con preview last week, staring at each other intently as storms brew over New York City.
Another image comes from Tumblr, in the form of an invitation to an "Amazing Spider-Man 2" meet-up at Comic-Con later this week. It makes it clear that "Amazing Spider-Man 2" is indeed the title of the sequel, and, well, that's just a bummer. Is it too much to ask for "Spectacular Spider-Man," or even "Sensational," or any other number of the creative titles that have been connected to Spidey over the years? I don't think so!
In "Amazing Spider-Man 2," Peter Parker has to survive his greatest threat yet: life after high school, while still spinning webs and busting bad guys. He maintains his Spider-Man alter-ego and still shares an "in a relationship" Facebook status with Gwen Stacy, despite her late father's dying wish for Peter to leave her alone. Making matters more complicated is the arrival of a new villain — the electrifying Electro — and the return of an old friend from Peter's past: Harry Osborn, son of the great scientist and businessman Norman Osborn.
"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" swings into theaters on May 2, 2014.
UPDATE: This banner is actually fanmade! Thanks Adrian Famularcano for the heads up.
