5 Heroes And Villains That Need The Hot Toys Treatment

Hot Toys

by Brett White

No company makes toys quite like Hot Toys, as proven yet again with the reveal of their new Captain America: Star Spangled Man figure. The attention to detail, the incredible likenesses, the intricate clothing and ton of accessories all add up to figures that are unlike anything that has ever crowded your shelves. They're fantastic, and I'd say they are some of the best comic book movie figures to ever exist.

The company's created figures for a wide range of heroes, movies and comic book publishers; the list includes characters like Iron Patriot, Bane, Agent Coulson, Jim Gordon, Black Widow and a ton more. But what comic book characters have they overlooked so far, and who should they make next? Here are five suggestions.

Catwoman

"Batman Returns" Catwoman

The company's already started tackling classic Tim Burton-era "Batman" with the release of both Michael Keaton as Batman and Jack Nicholson as the Joker. Howsabout adding Michelle Pfeiffer's version of Catwoman, to go alongside the fantastic Anne Hathaway one?

"X2: X-Men United" Nightcrawler

Hot Toys has steered clear of the X-Men films for the most part, so much so that one wonders if there isn't some sort of rights fiasco involved. But they did make a Wolverine figure in his "X-Men: The Last Stand" costume, so maybe there is hope for more Hot X-Toys (don't Google that). Alan Cumming's turn as Nightcrawler would make for a great figure, especially with all of his facial detail and elaborate costume. Hot Toys would also get to try their hand at crafting a prehensile tail.

Pepper Potts

"Iron Man 3" Pepper Potts

Tony Stark has a billion figures already, so it's about time Pepper Potts got at least some attention. And if she gets a Hot Toy, I think it should commemorate Gwyneth Paltrow's ass-kicking role in this summer's "Iron Man 3." Give her removable armor so she can save this Tony Stark figure from getting crushed by debris, but also include her totally ripped look from the film's climax. Pepper Potts, everybody.

Bucky

"Captain America: The First Avenger" Bucky

Sebastian Stan's Bucky is about to step into the big leagues as the title character of next year's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." But instead of waiting a whole year to get our hands on a 1/6th scale Winter Soldier, why not turn out a figure based on his "First Avenger" look? Hot Toys has done a bang up job with the other World War II era figures from the film; they'd do Bucky proud.

Margot Kidder

Lois Lane

Hot Toys recently turned their attention towards Christopher Reeve's classic take on Superman. Now they should give Margot Kidder's equally definitive portrayal a nod. Or maybe they could add Amy Adams' modern take on the character to their expanding "Man of Steel" line. As important as Lois Lane is to Superman (and oh yeah, she IS important), action figures of the character are few and far between. This fact didn't go unnoticed by the current holder of the Lois title, Amy Adams, who gave hefty amounts of side-eye to an interviewer after commenting on the lack of little Lanes:

Amy Adams or Margot Kidder. Or both. Just make a Lois Lane figure, Hot Toys, and get out of the way of that side-eye!
