'Iron Man 2' Villain Sam Rockwell Wants In On 'Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.'

Whatever happened to Justin Hammer, anyway?

The Tony Stark business rival first and last seen in "Iron Man 2" is still very much alive in the Marvel Cinematic Universe — a fact that's not lost on actor Sam Rockwell. In fact, the actor recently revealed to Vulture that he wanted to see Hammer reappear as recently as "Marvel's The Avengers."

"I was hoping to come back in one of the Avengers films and come after Gwyneth Paltrow, because that's what they set up, that I was going to get revenge on Gwyneth for getting me arrested or something," he said. "I could do a Cape Fear thing with Gwyneth. But they've got a lot of mojo in there already, so I don't know if they need another pirate like me in the mix there."

Rockwell then added, "Maybe 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' is the way to go."

A multi-episode Justin Hammer arc on the "S.H.I.E.L.D." series? With the Whedon team writing those scripts? And Coulson leading the charge? Suddenly, no other possibility in the Marvel Cinematic Universe seems nearly as exciting.

Except for "Guardians of the Galaxy."

And "Avengers 2."

And the rumored "Doctor Strange" and "Black Panther."

And wow the Marvel Cinematic Universe is an exciting place right now.
