The terrifying ruler of the dream dimension, Nightmare oversees his realm from atop his black-horned horse tormenting any and all humans that enter his dimension while they’re asleep. He is a demon hailing from a dimension called Everinnye and is actually the first major enemy that Doctor Strange encounters after defeating Baron Mordo. Nightmare is completely dependent on humankind’s need to dream. Without it, he would cease to exist.

Marduk Kurios
The true king of Marvel’s version of Hell, Marduk Kurios came to power by defeating legions of other demons. He has several other “Hell Lords” (i.e. Mephisto, Azazel, Cthon, Satannish) which he employs in order to confuse people as to who the real ruler of Hell is. After all, demons just love to lie! Marduk Kurios is also the father of both Daimon Hellstrom and Satana, two characters that could totally take part in the mystic side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

A Golden Age superhero known as Aarkus traveled to Earth from another dimension intending to help the Cosmic Cube gain sentience. Aarkus is instead transformed by the Dweller in Darkness into a Fear Lord called D’Spayre. D’Spayre is tasked with helping the demon take over the Earth and has the mystical ability to instill fear in his victims, and he even draws sustenance from fear.

Morgan Le Fay
An immortal sorceress hailing from Medieval times, Morgan Le Fay is the half-sister of King Arthur and also a half faerie. As a result, she has a natural affinity for all things magic. In fact, Morgan is a former pupil of Merlin himself and has had centuries since to hone her craft. Like Strange, Morgan has mastered astral projection and can cast illusions. The only thing that can truly harm her is the cold iron of a steel sword.

Lord of Chaos and the Master of the extra-dimensional beings known as the Old Ones, Shuma-Gorath actually ruled the Earth during prehistoric times demanding human sacrifice on a daily basis. He was banished by a time-traveling sorcerer named Sise-Neg, but has since returned to Earth via the mind of the Ancient One, Doctor Strange’s mentor, forcing Strange to kill his teacher to prevent the beast’s arrival. He’s a giant eyeball with menacing tentacles. How could you not want that in a feature film?
