'Captain America: The Winter Soldier': Does Steve's New Suit Reveal A Plot Point?

Super Soldier Captain America

While Steve Rogers may have spent the last two weeks fighting the Winter Soldier in a nice pair of khakis and Nikes, a new movie means a new official look for Captain America. Comic Book Movie revealed his "Winter Soldier" suit yesterday via a piece of concept art, and it definitely looks to be the suit glimpsed briefly on set way back in April.

But Joblo has heard from a secret source that Cap's new suit is actually a plot point of sorts, one that's definitely considered a spoiler. If you're feeling curious, check out the quote after the jump.

Cap's new look mirrors the one he wore in the comics while he was S.H.I.E.L.D.'s acting commander. The new look makes sense considering S.H.I.E.L.D.'s prominent role in the film. Joblo's source confirms this and then takes it a step... further.

"This is Cap's S.H.I.E.L.D. uniform (obviously) but for circumstances unknown (either it getting destroyed or Cap hating it), at some point in the film, Steve breaks into the Smithsonian and steals back his 40's uniform. So for all of us that loved the Johnston suit, Captain America will be back in it by the end of the movie. Sort of takes the sting away from this lameness."

I personally wouldn't call the new suit lame, not at all. I also didn't mind his "Avengers" look, so take my opinion for what it's worth. Considering how hokey Captain America's costume could look, the ones he's sported on the big screen should be considered great successes. This new one seems no different, but only time will tell if Cap really will go on a shopping spree in the Smithsonian.
