‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Shooting To Resume This Summer

Coulson Lives. But how? That’s a mystery we’ll see answered when Clark Gregg returns to the Marvel Cinematic Universe by way of the small-screen, on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”

The veteran agent’s return from the dead remains unexplained, but Gregg tells Jeremy Jahns he feels fans won’t have a hard time accepting the mysterious resurrection once the Marvel TV series hits ABC this fall.

“I think the Marvel Universe is a little more accessible to the concept of people not being 100% dead,” he explained, adding, “I was also lucky enough to start having people write ’Coulson Lives’ all over the globe.”

It’s possible that not even Gregg is fully aware of the circumstances behind Coulson’s continued survival. After all, he’s only shot one episode of “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” so far.

“I’m excited to shoot the show. We’ve only shot one,” he said. “We shot the pilot, they picked that up, in about six or seven weeks we start shooting more of them, and we will have just enough of them in the can that we’ll be theoretically ahead of when they show them on TV.”

Even with Coulson in the mix, Gregg doesn’t think his S.H.I.E.L.D. agent will steal all the attention. “That’s the theory of those involved, that Agent Coulson is driving the ship,” he said. “But I’m surrounded by a particular ensemble of young S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, [as well as] the magnificent Ming-Na Wen, who plays Agent Melinda May, who’s a very notorious badass within S.H.I.E.L.D.”
