‘Kick-Ass 2′ Villain Christopher Mintz-Plasse Has ‘Tom Hanks’ Quality, Producer Says

Gone are the days of McLovin. Here to stay is the reign of the Motherf—er.

Christopher Mintz-Plasse upgrades his name and level of villainy in “Kick-Ass 2,” transforming from Red Mist into a vicious alias that we can’t even fully spell out for you without a bar of soap in our mouths. Producer Matthew Vaughn tells Empire that even though Chris D’Amico is up to no good in the “Kick-Ass” sequel, audiences are going to love what they see.

“When we did the test screening he basically kills a lot of your favorite characters, and there’s some heavy, heavy s—, but the test audiences love [him],” he said. “He’s got that Tom Hanks thing where no matter what he does, you still like him.”

Meanwhile, director Jeff Wadlow tells Empire that fans are in for an even bigger treat with Jim Carrey as Colonel Stars & Stripes.

“He’s not as prominent as Nicolas Cage’s Big Daddy in the original … but I can’t imagine anyone better,” he said. “I wrote the script, but two of the best lines he improvised: ’There’s a dog on your balls’ and ’Try to have fun, right? Otherwise, what’s the point?’ There was no warning, he just said ’em.”
