It may only be 30 seconds long, but the trailer for ABC’s “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” manages to cram in a lot of tantalizing details. Any fears fans might have had about the series not being able to match Marvel’s big screen fare in terms of scale, special effects and action have surely been smashed in the face with a blender. This trailer brings the goods, and one possibly big reveal.
Here are 9 must-see moments from the “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” trailer.
» S.H.I.E.L.D. adds a whole new level of gravitas to the phrase “put a bird on it.”
» Phil Coulson’s looking pretty good for a dead guy.
» S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Melinda May (played by Ming-Na Wen) punches a dude in the face, which is awesome.
» The trailer shows off some S.H.I.E.L.D. tech, in this case flying robots that are possibly helping agents investigate a crime scene. Name one of those robots H.E.R.B.I.E. and watch Marvel fans freak.
» Here’s what I think is the trailer’s big reveal: J. August Richards is playing Luke Cage. Come on! The clothes and powers just scream Luke Cage. We have to wait until fall to find out for sure.
» Here’s where I got that “blender to the face” comment from earlier from. This looks like Agent Grant (played by Brett Dalton) getting up close and personal with a bad guy in a kitchen.
» This looks like another S.H.I.E.L.D. gadget, possibly one that plays back 3D/holographic video. Either that or Phil Coulson keeps a sentient explosion floating around like a sidekick.
» If there isn’t a “don’t touch Lola” t-shirt by the end of today, then there’s something seriously wrong with the internet.
