Zoe Saldana

Everybody get your fingers crossed, because this needs to happen. The Hollywood Reporter says that Zoe Saldana is currently in talks to star opposite Chris Pratt and Dave Bautista in 2014's "Guardians of the Galaxy," a role that she seems a perfect for. Saldana's no stranger to science fiction. The actress currently portray's Uhura in J.J. Abrams' Star Trek reboot, next appearing in May's "Star Trek Into Drakness."

Gamora, the lone female in the Guardians cast (at least so far), is an expertly skilled assassin. Her nickname is "the deadliest woman in the whole galaxy," if that gives you any indication as to how expertly trained she is. She's a green-skinned alien and the last of the Zen Whoberi race after they were exterminated by the alien Badoon. She was found and raised by Thanos to be the perfect killing machine; her nickname makes us think she did her "father" proud. Gamora eventually turned on Thanos and ended up siding with the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Saldana would round out the three principal actors, as both Rocket Raccoon and Groot will be CGI characters. Chris Pratt was the first to sign on as Peter Quill, a.k.a. Star-Lord. Dave Bautista followed suit a few months later, coming on board as Drax the Destroyer (another green-skinned killing machine with a hatred for Thanos). The James Gunn film is due out in August 2014.
