If you want to keep yourself spoiler-free for "The Amazing Spider-Man 2," then stay far, far away from this post. No, seriously. Keep walking. Nothing to see here.
Anyone still left with us? Good. The folks over at Comic Book Movie got some major scoops about the upcoming Marc Webb movie. Keep in mind that this news (obviously) is not officially confirmed, so there's a chance it might not pan out exactly as CBM states.
SPOILERZONE FROM HERE ON OUT!
You are now in the Spoilerzone. Are you okay with being in the Spoilerzone? We're starting off with the biggest spoiler of all, so this is your for-real last chance to exit the Spoilerzone.
First up, the biggest spoiler: Gwen Stacy will die in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2." Many already suspected this because of the inclusion of Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson and also because it's the inevitable end of any Gwen Stacy story arc. CBM says that the death won't happen at the end of the movie, and speculates that it will occur at the beginning of the third act, "giving Spidey a reason to go off the deep end and seek revenge." Stone reportedly won't have an especially large role in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2."
While that's sinking in, we have some bad news for those you hoping Venom or Green Goblin will pop up in this movie. That morgue photo Webb posted that set off all the speculation actually refers to the place Max Dillon (played by Jamie Foxx) is brought after his "accident." That means no appearance of Venom or Green Goblin, though there will be plenty of Green Goblin foreshadowing for "The Amazing Spider-Man 3." Chris Cooper's Norman Osborn allegedly has not been cured yet and is still dying in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2."
Lastly, Jamie Foxx's Electro isn't going to be sporting his classic green and yellow look. Instead, CBM's sources say that fans should "think Ultimate version" for his costume, a change that Webb has teased in the past.
