You can tell summer's almost here because the panel announcements for San Diego Comic-Con International have started. At least, that's how we measure summer's arrival. Latino Review's Elmayimbe leaked word of a "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" panel a few days ago before confirming it, giving it a July 20th date.
Hall H has grown in legend since the convention began using the panel space in 2004. The colossal space is home to 6,500 seats as well as the show's biggest announcements. So what exactly does "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" have in store for Hall H? What makes the Captain America sequel and Phase 2 film so deserving? We're guessing that fans will get their first sneak peek at footage from the film, possibly with a few stars (Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, etc.) thrown in for good measure. The film starts production on April 1st, which means fans will be getting a pretty early look at the film (if footage is indeed shown).
The highly-anticipated sequel boasts the biggest and most recognizable cast of any Phase 2 film. In addition to Chris Evans as Captain America and returning Marvel Cinematic Universe stars Sebastian Stan (The Winter Soldier), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Toby Jones (Arnim Zola) and Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), the film introduces Anthony Mackie as Falcon, Emily VanCamp in to-be-announced role, and Frank Grillo as Crossbones. And really, any of those actors could have a flight and hotel booked for San Diego around July 20th as far as we're concerned.
