‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’: Alan Cumming Nixes Rumors Of Nightcrawler’s Return

By Brett White

A slip of James McAvoy’s tongue sent excitement bounding through the Internet, but it was all for naught. Alan Cumming has recently denied any involvement with “X-Men: Days of Future Past” in an interview with Sirius XM.

Cumming admitted, “No, they haven’t [asked me to return]…I know the one that’s coming up shoots this Spring, but I wouldn’t be available anyways,” and thus broke the hearts of X-Men fans worldwide.

McAvoy, who’s reprising his role as Professor Charles Xavier in the Bryan Singer helmed sequel “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” casually dropped Alan Cumming’s name while listing his ever expanding cast of co-stars in an interview. Alan Cumming previously appeared in the 2003 X-Film “X2: X-Men United” as the blue-skinned, teleporting mutant Nightcrawler to much acclaim.
