‘Guardians’ Comics Will ‘Tonally’ Fit With The Movie

If you’re on the edge of your seat waiting for more “Guardians of the Galaxy” goodness, then this one’s for you: MTV Geek has a brand-new interview with the folks at Marvel Comics responsible for the relaunch of the “Guardians” comic books, from Brian Michael Bendis and Steve McNiven.

“Tonally, Brian is making sure that our book fits in with the movie, the way our ’Avengers’ books fit into the ’Avengers’ movie,” explains editor Steve Wacker.

“I’m part of the Marvel creative committee, which means I’m part of this brain trust that helps with developing the movies,” added Bendis. “We see all the outlines and all the drafts of the scripts that come in … and ’Guardians’ has been in development, secretly, for a while. When I was offered the book, there were a lot of opportunities for me to express ideas that I was expressing in the meeting. My take and the movie are going to be very different things, but thematically, I think they’ll be very similar.”
