There was a two-car pile-up on the set of “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” — but don’t worry, it was planned. In the latest photo from the set that director Marc Webb has posted to Twitter, one car can be seen flipped on top of a taxi on a New York City street.
“Day 20. Something happened to Matt Tolmach’s cab,” Webb tweeted, referencing producer Matt Tomlach. Looks like there is something that will be wreaking havoc around the Big Apple in this upcoming comic book movie.
A wider shot of the stunt has been released via SuperHeroHype gives some context for the scene’s surroundings. There’s an Eisenberg’s Sandwich shop in the background that seems to be the place where Shailene Woodley’s Mary Jane Watson works, and next to it is a place called Russian Bookstore No. 21. Who’s the only Russian character in the movie? Paul Giamatti’s Aleksei Mikhailovich Sytsevich — better known as The Rhino. What kind of creature would be strong enough to flip a car like it’s seen above? We’ll let you connect the dots.
“The Amazing Spider-Man 2” is due in theaters on May 2, 2014.
