'Sixth Gun' TV Series Casts Laura Ramsey As Lead

Sixth Gun

"The Sixth Gun" is arming up. Carlton Cuse of "Lost" fame is executive producing the NBC adaptation of the Oni Press comic book, and he's assembling quite the cast.

Deadline reports that Laura Ramsey has landed the lead role of Becky Montcrief in the upcoming supernatural Western pilot. "The Sixth Gun" takes place in the Old West and centers on six mystical guns with deadly powers; the sixth of these weapons is the deadliest of them all, and it falls into the hands of innocent Becky, kick-starting a series of dangerous events and putting her on the path of evil men long thought dead.

Joining Ramsey in the pilot are W. Earl Brown as General Oliander Hume, a legendarily vicious Confederate leader who returns from the grave to claim his rightful prize. He's joined by dastardly followers including loyal lieutenant Silas Hedgepeth, played by Graham McTavish. Also joining the pilot is Aldis Hodge as a PI named Agent Mercer.

Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt are the creators of the "Sixth Gun" comic book, one of the best adventures currently in publication. If you haven't checked it out yet, go to your local comic shop or Comixology to learn more; you won't be disappointed.
