'Iron Man 3': Ben Kingsley Went 'Bonkers' For Mandarin

You saw those new "Iron Man 3" posters and images, right? They came from the new issue of Empire Magazine, and there's a whole lot more on ol' Shellhead for you today.

Director Shane Black and the stars of the film spoke extensively with the magazine about the upcoming film, ComicBookMovie.com reports. All of the major players weighed in on what Marvel fans are in store for, including Sir Ben Kingsley, who stars in the film as the vicious Mandarin.

"A pastiche of American iconography. It's there to confuse - you don't know what's coming next. Shane allowed me to push the boundaries of the role so that I'm allow to go a bit bonkers."

Based on the recent Mandarin poster we've seen, "bonkers" sounds about right.

As for playing War Machine again, Don Cheadle spoke about his character's transition into the red-white-and-blue duds of the Iron Patriot.

"The name makes as much sense as Iron Man," the actor said. "It's a new and interesting look. I don't know how, personally, I'd feel about being draped in the flag, but Rhodey doesn't care what the paint job is like. He just wants it to do what it does."
