James McAvoy Looking To Star In 'The Crow'?

The Crow

Could it be that the long-planned "The Crow" remake isn't so dead-in-the-water after all? It's being reported that James McAvoy is in talks to join the flick as leading man Eric Draven, though the news hasn't been confirmed by Dimension Films.

Bloody Disgusting was the site to report the McAvoy news. His is the first actor's name to be attached to the project since Bradley Cooper departed years ago. F. Javier Gutierrez is slated to direct this iteration of the film.

McAvoy has a lot on his plate right now with the upcoming "X-Men: Days of Future Past," so if he does sign with "The Crow," this movie likely won't happen until after that.

"The original 1994 'Crow' film holds a special place in my heart," producer Edward R. Pressman said back in June. "The current film is a 'reinvention' of James O'Barr's graphic novel for the 21st Century. We're thrilled to have teamed with director Javier Gutierrez and screenwriter Jesse Wigutow on this story, which remains true to the core of Eric Draven's plight for revenge. Giving too much away wouldn't be any fun. 'Disorder, chaos, anarchy -- now that's fun!'"
