'Amazing Spider-Man 2' Webs Up Former President

The FBI are coming to "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" and so is... Franklin Delano Roosevelt? The latest tweet from director Marc Webb teases that the former president could have something to do with the movie's plot.

"Day 12. #thepassage," he tweeted, along with a taped-together picture of FDR. This clue about the upcoming movie is a bit harder to figure out than some of Webb's other ones, but the popular theory is that it has something to do with New York City's Roosevelt Island.

That location was where Spider-Man battled the Green Goblin in Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man." If this clue does point to that, then it adds further credibility to the rumor Green Goblin will have a role in this upcoming film -- and it's also a nice nod to Raimi's series. Of course, that's just one take on the image. Another we're a fan of is that the FDR picture means Bill Murray will have a role in the movie.

"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" already features villains Electro and Rhino, so adding Green Goblin to the fray as much might overload the flick. Then again, we are dying to see Norman Osborn and his son Harry get up to some sort of mischief this time around. "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is due out on May 2, 2014.
