Buried in the announcement of the "Amazing Spider-Man 2" title is this little casting gem: Colm Feore has joined the ensemble ... but as who?
Feore, already familiar to comic book fans for playing Laufey the Frost Giant in "Thor," is officially on board Marc Webb's "Spider-Man" sequel, but in a completely unknown capacity. That doesn't mean we can't take a few educated guesses based on what we know about "ASM2" so far.
Read on for three characters we could see Feore playing in the next "Spider-Man."
The likeliest choice. If Harry is in "ASM2," then Norman is sure to follow. Few people play sinister the way Feore can; he's perhaps older than I'd like for the part, but there's no doubt that he would deliver a bone-chilling take on the first Green Goblin.
A much better physical match. "ASM2" is already loading up on bad guys with Electro, Rhino and at least one Osborn on board. Why not throw in another? Well, because there is such a thing as villain overload, for one reason — but seeing Feore as Adrian Toomes could well be worth the cost.

Hopefully not, but very possibly. I'm with J.K. Simmons fans on this one: there's no one better for the Daily Bugle chief. As much as I respect Feore as an actor, I just don't see him as the right choice for the part — but Webb, who has gone for a more grounded-in-reality approach than the almost slapstick tone of Raimi's trilogy, could very well disagree.
