Report: Marvel Plans 'Planet Hulk' For Phase Three

Planet Hulk

Remember when we asked Kevin Feige about the chances of a "Planet Hulk" movie? Looks like we were onto something!

El Mayimbe at Latino Review posted an extensive report on how Bruce Banner fits into the future of Marvel Studios. Outside of "The Avengers 2," Hulk's place in the ongoing Marvel saga is sketchy at best — but according to the report, we'll be seeing a lot more of him in Phase Three.

Possible spoilers ahead!

According to El Mayimbe, the plan for the Hulk is as follows: at the end of "The Avengers 2," the Jade Giant will be banished from Earth because he's too much of a threat. That leads to his own solo film in Phase Three, none other than "Planet Hulk," based on the mega-popular Greg Pak-written run. After that, Hulk will return to Earth in "Avengers 3," in a storyline that would mimic the "World War Hulk" comics.

When MTV News spoke with Feige about Hulk's future — and whether or not a "Planet Hulk" movie in particular is on the table — he told us, "'Planet Hulk' is a cool story … 'World War Hulk' is a cool story." Can't say we disagree!

If the latest report pans out as outlined, then Marvel's third phase of films is already shaping up quite nicely. "Ant-Man," "Doctor Strange," "Planet Hulk," and a "World War Hulk" inspired "Avengers" threequel? Yeah, we think we could get on board for all of that.
