At long last, the titular role in the "Sin City" sequel has been found!
Just an hour after announcing the casting of Julia Garner in "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For," co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller have announced who will be playing the film's pivotal femme fatale: Eva Green, who is already getting into the comic book movie business later this year with "300: Rise of an Empire."
"We’ve been wanting to tell this story for a very long time," Miller and Rodriguez said in a joint statement. "Ava Lord is one of the most deadly and fascinating residents of Sin City. From the start, we knew that the actor would need to be able to embody the multifaceted characteristics of this femme fatale and we found that in Eva Green. We are ecstatic that Eva is joining us."
Angelina Jolie was long connected to the role, but it appears Rodriguez and Miller have gone in a different direction. Green will mostly trade barbs with Josh Brolin as Dwight McCarthy, and will also share screen time with Dennis Haysbert as Manute.
"Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" hits theaters on October 4, 2013.
