'The Sixth Gun' Gets Pilot Order At NBC

Sixth Gun

Carlton Cuse is kicking off the new year with some exciting news. NBC has ordered its new 2013 pilots, and his "The Sixth Gun" series is one of them.

The adaptation of Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt's Oni Press comic is being executive produced by Cuse and screenwriter Ryan Condal, and their partnership has had us excited ever since it was announced. The series follows the adventures of gunslinger Drake Sinclair and his mythical firearm. It sounds like just the type of series NBC would take a risk on, and hopefully it ends up being as great as the premise sounds.

This has been a project that NBCUniversal has been interested in for a while. In 2011, it was reported that "The Sixth Gun" would become a series on SyFy, another subsidiary of the company. It seems like the premise was too good to turn down, because now "The Sixth Gun" is heading to network television instead of cable.
