Anthony Mackie Looks Ahead To 'Captain America'

In a little over a year, audiences will meet Sam Wilson, the superhero better known as Falcon. "Gangster Squad" actor Anthony Mackie is the man bringing Wilson to life in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," and he's very excited about what he's seen and read so far.

"I have read a script, and it's really good. It's fun," he told MTV News during the "Gangster Squad" junket, adding that he begins shooting "Captain America" in April.

"The Russo brothers have been really good about keeping me informed of their visions and ideas for what they want the movie to be," he added. "It seems like it's going to work on all accords, so I'm just excited about it."

One reason why Mackie is excited: his costume. The actor confessed that he knows what Falcon will look like in "Winter Soldier," and "it's pretty awesome. I look like a bad mother-what. It's pretty cool."

But will "Winter Soldier" be our only visit with Sam Wilson? Not necessarily. Mackie was tight-lipped on the specifics, but he did say that Marvel Studios always keeps its collective eye on how to implement actors in the long game.

"They're very specific about how they utilize talent from movie to movie," he said. "They have a long ranging scope on what they want the Marvel franchise to be. They're real smart about it. Nothing happens by happenstance with them."
