Tom Hiddleston ranked as one of our Heroes of the Year due to his work as Loki in "Marvel's The Avengers." But will he get that same honor in 2015, when Joss Whedon's "Avengers" sequel hits theaters? It doesn't look likely.
Speaking with MSN, Hiddleston confessed that he's not sure about whether or not the Asgardian mischief-maker will be back for another round against Earth's mightiest heroes in 2015 — but he's not counting on it.
"I don't know, and that really is the honest answer. I know I've been known for obfuscation in other quarters, but I have no idea," he said. "I haven't spoken to Joss. He's definitely doing it. So I suspect not, only because I think that probably the audiences are tired of Loki being the bad guy. Maybe the Avengers need somebody else to fight."
Not that Hiddleston doesn't want another "Avengers" in his future. "I'd love to be part of it again," he said.
At this point, we're all expecting to see Thanos take the villainous lead when "Avengers 2" rolls into town. There seems to be unfinished business between the Mad Titan and Loki, which bodes well for a repeat appearance from the Asgardian, at least briefly. But even if Loki doesn't make it into the next "Avengers" film, it's not the last we've seen of him; he'll have a major role to play in "Thor: The Dark World," in theaters next November.
