Jamie Foxx has at least one fan excited to see him play Electro in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2": "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" star Reeve Carney. The musical also features Electro as one of its villains, and Carney admitted in a recent interview with MTV News that he's excited to see Foxx's take on the character.
"I actually had no idea that Electro was going to be the villain in the next 'Spider-Man' film and I didn't know Jamie Foxx [was] playing him until I met Jamie the other day. I'm really excited to see that," he said. "I wonder how they'll do it visually: Like, how much will be CGI and how much is going to be real electricity of some sort. Like in our show, we have these sparks that come out of Electro's hands and his head, so I wonder if they'll do anything like that."
Foxx already teased a couple of those answers when we caught up with him recently. He told MTV News that Electro's suit is going to be black and "slick," and mark "a new age."
As for whether or not Foxx is the right choice to play Electro, Carney said the "Django Unchained" actor has no competition. "Jamie's unbelievable. That guy, he can act, sing. I can't wait to see what he does," Carney said.
"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is due out in theaters on May 2, 2014. Directed by Marc Webb, it stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Shailene Woodley, Dane DeHaan and Foxx.
