'Walking Dead' Goes Black And White And Gets New Toys

The Walking Dead

"The Walking Dead" might be gone until February 10, but it's certainly not forgotten. There are some exciting things happening in Robert Kirkman's zombie apocalypse universe that should help ease the wait until AMC's hit series returns in two months.

First up, AMC has revealed that all 18 episodes from seasons one and two of "The Walking Dead" will be converted into black and white. This news was first reported in The Walking Dead Magazine, but showrunner Glen Mazzara tweeted an image of the article to seemingly share his approval. Prior to this, only the pilot episode had been converted to black and white to successful results.

Also coming our way is a new batch of toys styled around season three of "The Walking Dead." McFarlane Toys has created action figures inspired by Michonne, Merle Dixon, Autopsy Zombie and both of Michonne's Pet Zombie's, Bleeding Cool reports. They'll be available in stores starting March 27.

If that isn't enough "The Walking Dead" excitement for you, it's also been revealed that Image Comics is publishing a little catch-me-up for fans who aren't familiar with season three's villain, The Governor. "Walking Dead: The Governor Special" will go on sale on March 6 for $2.99. It includes a reprint of the first appearance of The Governor in "The Walking Dead 27," and his origin story that first appeared in "CBLDF Liberty Annual 2012."
