Alan Cumming ‘Would Like To Go Back’ To Playing Nightcrawler For ‘X-Men’ Sequel

Nightcrawler is one of the original “X-Men” characters we want to see in “Days of Future Past,” and we’re not the only ones who feel that way: actor Alan Cumming would be wide open for reprising his role as teleporting mutant Kurt Wagner in Bryan Singer’s next X-flick.

“It was funny that film because I really like it and everyone really responded to Nightcrawler and enough time has elapsed that I would like to go back to it,” Cumming told Coming Soon during a recent interview.

“Although then when I did that film it was sort of the start of this spate of superhero and comic books made into films so it felt a little more special then it does now,” he added. “X2 was a really great film, not just as a comic book film. I think it’s one of the films I’d been in that I think of as really good.”

Even though Cumming has fond memories of playing Nightcrawler, and even though it sounds like he’d be on board if he was asked to come back for “Days of Future Past,” the actor hasn’t heard a word from Team Singer.

“I haven’t gotten the call,” he said. “Someone told me that Nightcrawler doesn’t appear in the story but I don’t know, I think they would have called by now.”

Did you hear that, Singer? Give the man a call!
