'Man Of Steel' Placed Under Arrest In New Poster

Man of Steel

Superman, you've been very, very naughty!

A new poster for director Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel" hit the web on Monday (December 3), slapping the cuffs directly on Supes' wrists. The DC Comics icon is seen in the poster walking down a hall with armed soldiers all around him, handcuffs keeping his fists in place. (Bah, who are we kidding? We all know those cuffs are doing diddly-squat to keep Kal-El in line!)

We honestly don't know a whole lot about what Snyder has in store for his retelling of the Superman mythos. Trailers indicate a more epic quality to this tale than we've seen on film before, with a tone akin to producer Christopher Nolan's work on the "Dark Knight" trilogy. We also know General Zod is the film's villain, and that Superman likes to go fishing with a beard.

The new poster, featuring an incarcerated Man of Steel, tells us more. This isn't a Superman who has endeared himself to the people of Earth — not yet, at least. Exactly what drives Clark Kent behind bars remains to be seen, but consider me intrigued.

"Man of Steel" flies into theaters on June 14, 2013 starring Henry Cavill, Michael Shannon, Amy Adams and more.
