You wanted "Guardians of the Galaxy" casting news? You got it.
Director James Gunn's adaptation of Marvel's cosmic superheroes reportedly has its eye on five actors: Joel Edgerton ("Warrior"), Jack Huston ("Boardwalk Empire"), Jim Sturgess ("Cloud Atlas"), Lee Pace ("The Hobbit" and "Twilight" films) and Eddie Redmayne ("Les Miserables"), according to Variety's Jeff Sneider.
These five actors have reportedly signed test deals for Marvel's ambitious space-set epic, so don't start banking on any one of them taking home the grand prize.
As for who they're testing for? Deadline says it's Peter Quill, alias Star-Lord, the leader of the Guardians. Furthermore, Deadline adds a few more names including Garrett Hedlund ("Tron Legacy"), Sullivan Stapleton (the upcoming "300" sequel) and James Marsden (already a familiar face to Marvel fans, for playing Cyclops in "X-Men").
So who will wind up playing Peter Quill? Your guess is as good as ours — but hey, at least now we have a few more names to guess from!
