‘Arrow’ Adds ‘Alias’ Villain David Anders, Teases New Mystery Archer

It’s a busy day for fans of “Arrow,” from casting news to new photos and interviews. The rundown: a “Heroes” villain is set to terrorize Oliver Queen; the Huntress speaks; and a new mysterious archer is showing up to throw down with our favorite emerald-clad crime-fighter.

Get the lowdown after the break!

1. First, Zap2It reports that “Heroes” and “Alias” alum David Anders will join “Arrow” for its 13th episode, playing a villain named Cyrus Vanch. Vanch is “a ruthless career criminal who is released from prison after a long stint.” He decides to take control of Starling City’s criminal underworld shortly after. Anders was most recently seen on “Once Upon a Time” as Dr. Frankenstein, and on “Vampire Diaries” as Uncle John.

2. Second, actress Jessica de Guow spoke with IGN TV about joining “Arrow” as Huntress, one of the most recognizable DC Comics characters to hit the show to date. Regarding her inspiration for the role, de Guow said she “went back to the comics,” which struck her as “the best place to start.” Read the full interview for much more.

3. Finally, a new archer is coming to Starling City, and he clearly isn’t a fan of Oliver Queen. Superhero Hype has new photos from the show’s upcoming Christmas episode, which features the bad guy seen above. Any guesses on who this is? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter!
