Jaimie Alexander

Don't let anyone tell you making a Marvel movie is easy work. Actress Jaimie Alexander knows the dangers of working in Earth's mightiest superhero universe all too well, having suffered a set of painful injuries on the set of "Thor: The Dark World."

In a new interview with The New York Post, Alexander revealed the specifics of what she went through, and her current recovery progress. Read on for the details.

Describing the circumstances of her initial back injury, Alexander said, "It was raining, it was dark outside, it was like 5 in the morning — and I went down a metal staircase and slipped and slipped a disc in my thoracic spine and chipped 11 of my vertebrae … I knocked my left shoulder out of place and tore my rhomboid on my right side."

The injuries took Alexander out of filming for a full month, but the star said she's now back in action as Lady Sif.

"I heal really fast," she said. "Everyone thinks it’s really funny to tease me about staircases now that I fell down one . . . I’m walking in heels again though, so that’s a good sign."
