DC Comics has big plans for the “Justice League of America” franchise in 2013, and you can get all kinds of details on what they have in store over at MTV Geek today. Among the highlights: 52 covers are planned for the launch of “Justice League of America” #1, and two spin-off series, “Katana” and “Vibe,” are also in the works.
But if you’re one of the many viewers of The CW’s “Arrow,” here’s the news you want to pay attention to: “Animal Man” writer Jeff Lemire is taking over DC’s “Green Arrow” comic book starting in February with issue #17. He’ll be joined by “American Vampire” artist Andrea Sorrentino on a story designed “to hurt Oliver Queen.”
“My ever growing plans for the book will build a huge new mythology around Green Arrow’s legacy and send him across the globe, all the while trying to stay one step ahead of a deadly new cast of villains with mysterious ties to his past,” Lemire said of his “Green Arrow” plans. “I intend to hurt Oliver Queen. Strip him down to the bone and force him to rise up and become the hero he was destined to be. I hope you come along for the ride.”
