Five Electro Stories Fit For 'Amazing Spider-Man 2'

by Ryan Rigley

Jamie Foxx is reportedly in talks to play Max Dillon (a.k.a. Electro) in Marc Webb's "Amazing Spider-Man" sequel. This, of course, comes just weeks after it was announced that prominent Spider-Man characters Mary Jane Watson and Harry Osborn will also be making their debut in the upcoming "Spider-Man" film, which is now shaping up to be one hell of a summer blockbuster.

With Fox as Dillon all but official, now's as good a time as any to compile a list of the five Electro stories best suited for the silver screen. Check 'em out after the jump!

The Return of Sin-Eater

Taking place after Max Dillon and Stan Carter (the serial killer known as Sin-Eater) have been released from prison, "The Return of Sin-Eater" sees Electro publicly humiliating Spider-Man several times over. In their first encounter, Electro zaps him unconscious and makes a run for it leaving Spider-Man at the mercy of nosy policemen threatening to unmask him. The whole thing culminates in a big showdown at a Power Station, which would be absolutely fantastic to see on film.

The Rebirth of Electro

Struggling with depression, Max Dillon hires his services out to a crime lord called the Rose in exchange for more power. The Rose then proceeds to strap Electro to an electric chair. Fully charged and even more dangerous than ever, Electro defeats an unprepared Spider-Man once again and sets his sights on the entirety of New York City. But with the help of a mutant shaman called X-man, Spidey throws Electro into the Hudson River causing him to short circuit and go into hiding.

Possibly one of Electro's greatest crimes, Max Dillon is hired by the Skrulls to cause a huge breakout at a maximum security prison called the Raft. Releasing a ton of superpowerful, super evil inmates (including the likes of Carnage, Tiger Shark, and the Wrecking Crew), the Avengers (who at the time were pretty much defunct) are forced to band together in order to put a stop to the mass hysteria that Electro has unleashed upon the city.

The Gauntlet

In an attempt to cure Max Dillon of his powers, the Mad Thinker decides it best to increase Electro's electrical abilities turning him into a living lightning bolt. Granting him the power to transmit himself through any and all electrical appliances, Electro incites a mass protest called "Power to the People" leaving Spider-Man smack dab in the middle of the struggle. With the people of New York on his side for once, Electro has a field day messing with Spider-Man's head.

Sinister Six

After being defeated by Spider-Man three times in a row, Doctor Octopus comes up with a plan to subdue Spider-Man once and for all. Recruiting everyone that has ever been defeated by the wallcrawler, Doctor Octopus is soon joined by Electro, Mysterio, Sandman, Vulture, and Kraven the Hunter on his spider-hunting crusade. A while back, there were rumors of the so-called "Sinister Six" making an appearance in Marc Webb's "Spider-Man" trilogy. Now, with Electro's appearance all but confirmed, it's only a matter of time before we see the rest of the Sinister Six psychopaths fall into place.
