A “Locke & Key” movie trilogy? An “Avengers” sized film starring DC Comics’ supernatural all-stars and directed by Guillermo del Toro? A swing and a miss on the “Powers” TV show? Depending on what you believe, these are all things that are currently in the mix.
Latino Review published a massive report this week detailing several once and future (and possibly defunct) comic book movie and TV properties. Read on for the rundown.
» Up first is “Heaven Sent,” a potential Guillermo del Toro director vehicle that would feature an all-star lineup of DC’s most prominent supernatural characters including Swamp Thing, John Constantine, Etrigan the Demon, the Spectre and more. Considering their line that “HEAVEN SENT is certain to RULE ComicCon in 2020,” we’re not holding our breath for any confirmation on this project for quite some time.
» In news sure to make “Locke & Key” fans happy, LR also reports that the Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez horror series is going to get new live-action life as a trilogy of films at Universal. Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are reportedly producing and writing the script. We’ll believe it when we see it, but consider our fingers crossed on this one.
» In television news, Tim Seeley’s “Revival” is supposedly being shopped around by “Walking Dead” team David Alpert and David Engel. The word is less optimistic on “Powers,” however, as the report states that a second pilot has been filmed, but not to FX’s liking. Brian Michael Bendis says these allegations are 100% false, and further added that big news is on the way.
we’ve a ways to go to get powers on the air but as I Tweeted last week good news JUST happened. stay tuned. FX’ll announce stuff when ready
