"Marvel's The Avengers" made a bit of a monster out of the God of Mischief, but that hasn't stopped fans across the world from signing up as devoted members of Loki's army. Tom Hiddleston did masterful work with the character opposite Earth's mightiest heroes, and he'll continue his devious ways in "Thor: The Dark World."
But the movies aren't the only place where Loki currently thrives, and Hiddleston would be the first to point that out.
Kieron Gillen is the writer of "Journey into Mystery," the Marvel Comics series chronicling the adventures of Kid Loki, a globally adored character. Robot 6 has discovered that Hiddleston is one of Kid Loki's biggest fans, as the actor made his praise known in the letters column for the final issue of Gillen's run on "Journey."
"You and I see Loki the same way," writes Hiddleston in a letter to Gillen. "He's one dark, anarchic, bottomless black hole of rage, hatred, pity and pain. An exiled outcast, a lost & lonely agent of chaos, who wouldn't know what to do with familial forgiveness if it walked up to him in the street and slapped him in the face. I've had as much fun playing him as you've clearly had writing him."
"I know your run on JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY has been so hugely popular," continues the actor. "What an enormous honour to share Loki’s legacy with you. Here’s to bringing Norse back!"
Gillen's response? "Crikey."
Even though "Journey" is over, Kid Loki will continue to stalk the Marvel Universe in the pages of Gillen's upcoming "Young Avengers."
