RZA And Grant Morrison Make Each Other 'Happy'

Grant Morrison and RZA are feeling mighty "Happy" with one another, as the comic book scribe and Wu-Tang Clan veteran are joining forces for a brand new movie project.

The Hollywood Reporter has the news that RZA, fresh off his directorial debut "The Man with the Iron Fists" (hitting theaters on November 2), will direct an adaptation of Morrison's "Happy," a brand new Image Comics series co-created by "Transmetropolitan" and "The Boys" illustrator Darick Robertson.

"Happy" tells the story of ex-cop turned hitman Nick Sax, who suffers serious injuries during a hit gone bad. When he comes to, Sax finds that he can see a chipper blue horse named Happy, "who won’t give in to adversity, no matter what unpleasant obstacles come in the way." Sax and Happy form an unlikely alliance as the two set out to save the life of a troubled youth with days to go before Christmas.

Joining Morrison and RZA for the project is Reginald Hudlin as producer. The plan as it stands is to develop "Happy" before setting it up with a studio or financier. More details are expected to emerge during New York Comic Con this week.
