Hawkeye, Black Widow Recruited For 'Iron Man' Anime

Iron Man

Hulk isn't the only one of Earth's mightiest heroes teaming up with Iron Man for some post-"Avengers" movie action. "Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United" aside, Ol' Shellhead is calling upon two of his other team mates for an entirely different animated project, titled "Iron Man: Rise of Technovore."

"Rise of Technovore" is just the latest project announced for the Marvel Anime line, featuring the likes of not just Tony Stark but also the Black Widow and the eagle-eyed sharpshooter Hawkeye. Also included in the film are Marvel favorites Punisher and War Machine, with Nick Fury supposedly along for the ride as well.

According a press release, "Rise of Technovore" centers on a conflict between Stark "and the villainous Ezekiel Stane, who develops new bio-technology that seemingly outclasses the Iron Man armor. After Stane unleashes a terrorist attack and sets Tony up to take the fall, Iron Man must evade S.H.I.E.L.D.'s man hunt and find a way to clear his name."

"Marvel is excited to present an all-new Iron Man adventure featuring the high-tech adrenaline he is known for, in the beautifully rendered anime style of our friends at Madhouse," producer Megan Thomas Bradner said of the project. "We'll get to see familiar Marvel Super Heroes such as War Machine, Nick Fury, Black Widow, Hawkeye and The Punisher, rendered in anime style for the first time. It's a can't miss for any Marvel fan."

The film is slated for release in spring of 2013. More details will be announced at New York Comic Con this week, according to our pals at MTV Geek.
