Time to get out your nice black clothes, because we're going to be headed to a funeral in "Kick-Ass 2."
Director Jeff Wadlow tweeted a picture from the set of the film that showed an open casket filled with guns. "What do you keep in your coffin?" he asked along with the image. Fans of the comic should recognize what scene this picture promises, but we won't give away what it entails for those of you who want to go in to "Kick-Ass 2" fresh.
Without spoiling too much, just know that the funeral scene gets dark and violent, and is one of the most important scenes from the "Kick-Ass 2" comic. It's a major turning point for Kick-Ass as a character, and it also shows how unhinged The Motherf---er is as a villain.
We caught up with Christopher Mintz-Plasse at Comic-Con and talked to him about the many violent scenes his character has. He said that all the brutality means the film will likely earn a very high MPAA rating.
"If I'm playing my character, you know, [violence has] got to happen. But I don't know if that's going to be in the movie specifically," he said. "['Kick-Ass 2' is] going to be rated X. NC-17."
"Kick-Ass 2" also stars Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Jim Carrey, and Donald Faison. It's due in theaters on June 28.
