It’s no secret that Christopher Nolan likes his secrets. In fact, the notoriously tight-lipped filmmaker likes to keep his twists and turns so close to the vest that he doesn’t even let his star players in on the full scope of things until the time is right.
“I went and shot a scene for two hours with Christian Bale. There was a set, and Christian was tied up,” Neeson said, going on to mimic his ensuing conversation with Nolan.
“I said, ’Chris, what am I doing?’ [As Nolan:] ’Um… well, just walk forward, and say the lines, walk back, and that’ll be it, really,'” remembered Neeson. “I said, ’What the f***? Tell me the story!’ [As Nolan:] ’Um… I’d prefer not to, really.’ Okay, don’t mind me — I’m just an actor.”
Neeson’s experience working with Nolan wasn’t entirely without information, of course, though it was often dangerous. The Irish actor recalled his experience shooting the glacier fight scene in “Batman Begins,” details that sound fairly hazardous for one’s health. Get the full scoop at Hollywood.com.
