'Iron Man 3' Star Robert Downey Jr. Resumes Filming

Iron Man 3

Robert Downey Jr. is all healed after his ankle injury back in August and is already busy filming "Iron Man 3" in Florida.

The actor was spotted both in and out of his Iron Man Mark XLVII armor on the "Iron Man 3" set by Daily Mail when filming resumed yesterday. Though he was still wearing an ankle brace when he was sitting poolside, it is clear that RDJ is back in his element and happy to be shooting Marvel's upcoming movie.

Though we've seen the Mark XLVII several times before, the images that Daily Mail snapped prove that this really will be Tony Stark's coolest armor yet. The outlet also has images of Don Cheadle's Iron Patriot armor, which is just as sleek as the Mark XLVII. That's something Stark likely won't be too happy about.

When we caught up with Cheadle back at Comic-Con, he told us that the rival suits of armor would cause some bad blood between Stark and James "Rhodey" Rhodes.

"I think that's kind of the tension that is created for Tony and for Rhodey, because like who's really got the stick, and who really gets to decide what happens in certain situations? And that's what will be a lot of fun to explore in this film too," Cheadle said.

"Iron Man 3" hits theaters on May 3.
