Of all the characters in the DC Comics library, why is Oliver Queen the lucky hero getting his own TV show? There's certainly an answer to that, to hear it from "Arrow" producers Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg.
"Green Arrow is one of those DC Universe characters who's a member of the Justice League," said Guggenheim in a new video interview from The CW. "He's well known, but not so well known that you have to do it exactly as it's presented in the comic book."
Beyond his level of popularity, Oliver holds virtually limitless storytelling potential, a fact that Kreisberg and Guggenheim said will become clear as "Arrow" speeds through its first season.
"I think we're going to take this story farther in the first season than people are probably expecting," said Kreisberg. "I think one of the things that we've learned from working together over the years and also working separately is there's always more story to tell. I think TV audiences today are expecting a little more pace and if you're going to ask questions, they're going to want answers sooner rather than later. Our hope is that we're really going to -- the pilot is sort of a roller coaster and we're not going to let up from that."
