‘Dredd 3D’ Falls Out Of Top Ten In Second Weekend At The Box Office

For those of you holding out hope for a “Dredd 3D” sequel, we hate to burst the bubble, but it does not look good.

The 2000 AD adaptation, starring Karl Urban as Mega-City One’s finest helmeted arbiter of justice, debuted in sixth place with a mere $6 million haul to its name on September 22. Strong word of mouth did the Judge no favors, either, as “Dredd” fell out of the top ten entirely during its second weekend. Whatever the reasons are for “Dredd” failing to land despite overwhelmingly positive reviews, the sentence is clear: barring some kind of miracle, it doesn’t look like a sequel is in the cards.
