With his days as a werewolf behind him, actor David Thewlis is turning to another animal for his next big-budget performance.
The Hollywood Reporter has the news that Thewlis, who starred in the "Harry Potter" series as Professor Remus Lupin, is joining the cast of "Red 2" as an information dealer known as The Frog. How did he earn that name, you ask? THR reports that he "got his name by poisoning the water supply at the Kremlin using a poisonous Amazonian frog." Neat!
In signing up for "Red 2," Thewlis is just the latest accomplished actor to join an incredibly impressive cast. Newcomers for the film include Anthony Hopkins, Catherine Zeta-Jones and "G.I. Joe" veteran Byun-Hun Lee. Returning from the first film are Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Helen Mirren and Mary-Louise Parker, among others. Directed by "Galaxy Quest" helmer Dean Parisot, the next "Red" hits theaters on August 2, 2013.
