‘Dredd’ Debuts Prequel Comic Book To Catch You Up

Don’t know a lot about Judge Dredd? No problem! The kind folks at Lionsgate have got you covered thanks to a handy new comic book prequel to “Dredd” that they have released.

Called “The Secret History of Ma-Ma,” the comic was created alongside 2000 AD, written by Matt Smith and drawn by Henry Flint, Chris Blythe and Simon Bowland. It introduces the history of Ma-Ma Madrigal (played in “Dredd” by Lena Headey) and explains how she became the criminal mastermind she is in the present day of the film. It turns out Ma-Ma was just an average prostitute when she stumbled across the drug Slo-Mo, and the rest is history.
