Deadshot is coming to Star City, and now we know who's playing him. Michael Rowe has been cast on The CW's "Arrow" as the deadly marksman, TV Guide reports, with producer Marc Guggenheim weighing in on what makes the little-known Canadian actor perfect for the part.
"Deadshot doesn't speak much, so he has to have that physicality," said Guggenheim. "And Michael certainly has that. He has that look."
Guggenheim, who added that it's "very possible" we'll see Deadshot again beyond his upcoming episode three appearance, spoke with Green Arrow TV at length about the "Arrow" take on the fan-favorite villain.
"In the same way that the pilot is a more grounded and realistic take on the material, our Deadshot is a more grounded and realistic take on the character than the fully costumed and masked super-villain that you see in the comics," he said. "You’ll definitely see the red eye piece, which is the most distinctive, iconic feature of that character, and I will say that with no slam to Smallville intended, it’s a much more faithful version of Deadshot than the Deadshot that was in Smallville."
